Disaster planning saves county records

The problem with disasters is they are unexpected, and consequently our long-term plans to digitise our collections may come a little too late to save them. BRIDGETON: County clerk says office records safe despite flood | thedailyjournal.com | The Daily Journal

BRIDGETON — Cumberland County Clerk Gloria Noto said Friday that the office’s records are secure and safe despite Wednesday’s flooding of the court house basement.

“Our land records are fully microfilmed and the film is stored off site at either the Division of Archives and Records Management in Trenton or in Iron Mountain Underground Storage in Boyer, Pa.,” Noto stated. “At no time were the records of the citizens of Cumberland County in jeopardy.”
