19th Century British Pamphlets Collection

Collections held by libraries and archival societies are a treasure trove for the information seeking genealogist. Especially for those genealogists who want to add color and flavor to their family history research. There are two new collections of material available from the University of Melbourne.

The Manchester Selected Pamphlets covering 1799-1900 gives an insight into the working conditions and the people who lived and worked in the area.

The Wilson Anti-Slavery Collection covering 1761 - 1900 contains a wealth of information relating to the movement. The prominent role of women who formed societies which then lobbied parliament on the condition of slaves. For those people who are interested in the history of the slave movement this collection is going to be invaluable reading.
