Event planning: Feedback: After the event

The event has been and gone. Was it a success? Or was it a dismal failure?

One of the best ways to do this is through the use of feedback forms or evaluation sheets. Of course it also depends on the event you planned. You can hardly ask your wedding guests whether they could score the entire day on a scale of 1 to 10.

But training courses and seminars need this kind of feedback.

  • How was the course,
  • Was the material suitable?
  • Did the speaker, speak clearly?
  • Did they know their subject matter?
  • Were there any technical problems that affected the event?
  • How can the event be run better next time?
  • What was missing from the day?
  • How was the venue?
  • Was the location suitable and easy to get to?
  • Did they enjoy the food and refreshments?

Questions are very important - but you also need to act on the information you receive for it to make a difference to the next one you run.

But if you feel you can't ask for feedback - you can write your own.

  • What worked for you?
  • What didn't work?
  • How can you do it better next time?

And then of course the final things you need to consider.

  • Who do you need to thank?
  • Who do you need to follow up with?
  • Who do you still need to pay?

It is the detail that makes the difference. Make your events ones that are talked about - for all the right reasons.

These days, one of the best ways to do check whether the said event planning was done successfully is by going through the use of feedback forms or evaluation sheets. Of course it also depends on the event you planned.
